VICE PSP version 2.1.2 released

A new version of VICE PSP is now out. New in this version:

  • Added 4:3 (fit screen height) stretch mode, visible in NTSC mode or when border is disabled
  • Added border toggle – shows/hides the border surrounding the main display area
  • Added PAL/NTSC/Old NTSC mode selection
  • Added vertical blanking (VSync) support, only available in NTSC mode
  • Bugfix: PRG loading now works
  • Bugfix: “fit screen” stretch mode aspect ratio was incorrect; now fixed
  • Minor fixes

UPDATE Saving in NTSC mode will currently crash the emulator. This should be fixed shortly (UPDATE fixed)

    Hi again, I think I’ve struck a bug. When you try to create a savestate under either NTSC or Old NTSC, the PSP starts writing to the memstick but then locks up. If you leave it for a few moments, the PSP powers off.

    When you restart the PSP and reload VICE PSP, then select the NTSC game you were trying to savestate, and check the savestate, it appears with a corrupted or all black image in the Save/Load menu. Attempts to load the savestate sometimes work, sometimes not, depending on the game (I guess it’s managing to save a certain amount of the c64′s RAM, but not all of it).

    …update after further testing:

    It seems that even though the PSP crashes while creating the savestate (while under NTSC), after restarting and reloading VICE PSP the savestate in question does actually work, even if the thumbnail image for it is totally black. So I assume it is successfully saving the whole state, and then freezing at the end (maybe when trying to create the thumbnail image in the Save/Load menu?).

    Also, sometimes the PSP won’t freeze while creating the savestate, however attempting to immediately load the newly created savestate then results in a freeze.

    Hope all this makes sense.

    Is possible to make a dosbox psp emulator with virtual keyboard like this Pspvice

      I’m sure it’s possible, though this isn’t PSPVICE, it’s VICE PSP :)
