It seems that in my hurry to put the emulator up for download, I forgot to mention some important usage details about tape and disk image loading. As you may have noticed, VICE PSP normally resets the system, anytime you attempt to load a game from the Game tab. This is behavior that’s consistent in all my ports, and it’s intended to make most games easily loadable. VICE PSP also provides some fine-tuning options, for games that require multiple disks or tapes.
To load tapes/disks without resetting the system, go to the System tab, select the Tape or Drive 8 menu option (depending on whether you want to load a tape or disk image), then press CROSS to load another image. If a tape or disk image is already loaded, it will be ejected, and another one will be loaded in its place. To eject a loaded image, select an option, and press TRIANGLE.
To autoload a program, first load the image, then go to the System tab, highlight the Tape or Drive 8 menu option, and press RIGHT. Select a program from the list, and press CROSS to autoload it. Note that this will reset the system.

Loading Programs from a .d64 works a treat with this, thanks!
Hi!
Is there a way to open .prg files directly?
Greetings
Tobias
PRG files should be loadable from the Game tab, but I’ve been told that they do not load at the moment.
If that is the case, there should be a bugfix in the next release.
Speaking of bugs… I’ve found that mapping run/stop to a button doesn’t seem to work. Other key-presses work when mapped to buttons, but not run/stop for some reason. You can test this by trying it in any game that uses run/stop to pause – Armalyte, for example, or any SEUCK game.
Also, just a thought, but do you think there’s any possibility that future releases might include a manual frameskip setting? It’s by no means some kind of essential addition, but in other emulators setting the display to skip every second frame can be useful when trying to save battery power, the trade-off being of course that you end up with 25fps movement instead of 50fps. However, as some c64 games don’t run at 50fps anyway (eg: Stunt Car Racer and other 3d games), setting a fixed frameskip can be a handy way to save power without any noticeable difference in gameplay.
Actually, this would be particularly useful in the Amstrad CPC emulator, as the vast majority of CPC games update the screen at 25fps or less anyway.
As it stands, if you lower the PSP’s CPU speed to save power, you end up with a fluctuating framerate depending on what’s happening on-screen due to the auto-skipping, plus the sound gets a bit messed up.
Still loving this emulator, btw. VICE PSP has taken pride of place over PSPVice on my memstick.
Thanks Shaun. I have Run/Stop mapped for Great Giana Sisters, and it seems to be working for me. I’ll check again when I get a chance.
Sorry Akop, my mistake. I didn’t realise that Run/Stop was already mapped to the ‘start’ button, and so that mapping was taking precedence over my attempts to map Run/Stop to other buttons. Typical user error.
Hi great emulator. Is possible to load multiple disk from zip files?
And is possible to add a fullscreen mode for games (480 x 272) without black screen border (or no border option added to the screen size.)
Please see ewgf’s response below. There’s currently no way to sequentially load multiple disk files from a single ZIP file.
That should be coming in the next release, as will NTSC mode.
Thanks
Ok, thanks alot for reply.
I’m curious.Next release is near ?
Yes, there’s a new one out now

Just un-zip all of the disk files on your PC, and re-zip each disk file seperately, transfer them to your PSP, then on VICE PSP load the first zip (disk 1) as normal, and when you want to insert a different disk, follow Akop’s instructions in the “Tape and disk image options in VICE PSP” post above.
