A reader recently left a question asking whether Atari800 supports switching disks mid-emulation without rebooting (similar to fMSX PSP).
There’s currently no such feature, but improving classic computer emulators are what we’re all about, here at akop.org (all one of us)
Thank you for reading my comment. I hope that you will consider including a disk-swapping feature to the Atari800 PSP that won’t force the Atari to reboot. I was goofing off and tried to save the state of my game in Atari800Win after swapping the disks so that I could try to load the saved state in Atari800 PSP. It did not recognize the saved state file. I don’t remember what version of Atari800Win I was using (I know it was old though). Do you know if there is a version that uses the same format for the saved state files? Or is there a tool to convert them, or any other ideas? Thanks…

OK, I have found a work-around sort of…
I saved the state using Atari800 PSP so I could see where it put the file and check the naming convention. It saved it to the savedata folder and used the disk name then used .s00 for the extension. So I saved the state in Atari800Win and renamed the file to match the other one with the extension .s01. It works! Of course some games need to swap the disks back and forth which would be painful to work around this way. But at least I can play my 7 Cities of Gold game now, since it only swaps disks at the beginning.
Please, keep me posted if you add a disk-swapping feature. Thanks!
